Bay Area Running Club is one of the oldest running clubs in Houston, founded in 1975 by a group of NASA employees and still going strong in the area around the Space Center (Clear Lake, Friendswood, League City, Seabrook, Kemah, etc.). We run, race, volunteer, and socialize together. No matter what your goals, background, or ability level, if you have an interest in running you are welcome to join us, and we would love to have you.
Find running buddies through the club's large network of runners, joggers, and walkers of various ages, speeds, and running experience. Many BARC members are veteran marathon runners and are always willing to offer help with training for the Houston Marathon and other races. Get club discounts at some local races and running stores.
Since 2023 BARC has managed the Space City 10 Miler. The 10 Miler is the first race of the Chevron Houston Marathon Warm up series, and a part of HARRA’s Fall Series.
